Confetti Scotch

Here is Charlie sampling his "Confetti Scotch," which was 90% baking powder

Happy #6 Charlie

Happy #6 to Charlie Matthew!  We had a very fun week celebrating our independent, creative, curious, strong willed boy!  Charlie is the most social and out going boy I know and he certainly marches to the beat of his own drum.  He is always up to something - making a library around the house, creating a fish shop in his room, making his own nerf bullets out of pool noodles - the list goes on and on and on, he has about 5-10 crazy, hair brained, totally creative/artsy ideas a day.  No one tells Charlie what to do and he's never short on ideas:)  While he sometimes drives us nuts with his independent, always outside of the box personality, we also adore his amazingly creative, insightful and hilarious little spirit.  It'll be fun to see what Charlie becomes when he grows up, that's for sure:)

His birthday week included a visit from Grammy, a trip to the Sears (still called Serious by all 3 boys) tower, a sports themed birthday party, his Kinder teacher coming over with cookies and stories, and a fun family celebration.

 Making cakes with Grammy
Charlie cooking on his own - he wanted nothing to do with a recipe or any sort of cooking advice.  This creation is called "Confetti Scotch"
His bday cake - made by Grammy
 With his crew
Cinnamon rolls for bday breakfast
His birthday dinner request - cheeseburgers and cheese fries
The teachers at school always do a raffle at the Feb fun fair, and this year Charlie's teacher raffled off bringing cookies and milk to your house along with bedtime stories. Charlie won and it was quite possibly the cutest thing I've ever seen.  She read the boys 8 books and was at our house for over an hour.  We love you Mrs. Harrington:)
Happiest of birthdays to you Squatty Dog

Breathtaking Exuma

We got back on Saturday from an AMAZING week long trip to the Bahamas.  We stumbled on the little island of Exuma while planning our trip this year, and hit the jack pot.  Was the most beautiful beach any of us have ever been to, and we had almost the entire place to ourselves.  We had a condo that had a private hot tub, a pool and sat on the beach, which we may have seen all of 6 people in total on the entire week we were there.  It was one of those crazy places where the water is crystal clear and these amazing colors, and we could just walk out our door and be in the sand.  We all LOVED it, Josh has told me probably 5 times this week that he wants to live in the Bahamas!  Highlights were massages on the deck listening to the waves crash, a catered lobster dinner for Matt's birthday, amazing snorkeling, kayaking, a boat trip to some of the surrounding islands, running barefoot down a private beach every day, swimming with pigs, dolphins, barracudas, and sting rays, and another amazing trip with the Servens.  Such an amazing adventure for our families!

Of course the boys wanted to run too
Pure joy on their faces every day
We got SO much use out of the hot tub
